Significado de la piedra preciosa zafiro

Como la mayoría de piedras preciosas y semipreciosas el nombre de zafiro proviene del latín sapphirùs, que a su vez procede del hebreo chappir, que significa pulcro. El zafiro comparte familia de minerales con el rubí, ya que ambos proceden del corindón. La única diferencia entre unos y otros es su color ya que los rubíes son los corindones de colores más cálidos y los zafiros de tonalidades frías.
Es decir, no solo existe la variedad de color azul sino que hay muchas más. Es verdad que la azulada es la más famosa y la más valorada por los joyeros, pero también lo podemos encontrar en tonos amarillos, transparentes y rojizos.

Propiedades del zafiro

Las propiedades del zafiro se pueden dividir en dos: las físicas y las relacionadas con las energías. En cuanto a las primeras, el zafiro es una piedra muy dura con un nivel de 9 en la escala de Mohs, por encima solo por detrás del diamante, que le supera con un 10 de dureza.
El zafiro está relacionado con la sensatez y la rectitud de pensamientos, de hecho para muchas personas representa la piedra de la sabiduría. Esta piedra preciosa también se utiliza para aumentar la concentración y nuestra atención por las cosas importantes, tanto en el ámbito laboral como en el personal.

Cómo saber si un zafiro es auténtico
